So.. All three kids went to Oconee Community Theatre's acting camp this summer and all three of them thoroughly enjoyed it.
CUTIE-PIE:
I was worried about Ainslee since she has never participated in any real organized class. Oh, she has been to many of our homeschooling functions, but nothing that was organized like a traditional class. I didn't know how she would do. My little baby. Apparently my worries were for naught. She was excited to go and had absolutely no qualms leaving me in the dust blowing kisses after her! She was excited to get up each day and go to her "class". Seemingly, she was adored and loved by everyone there. Everyone knew her name and always had something to say to her as she passed by. Crazy momma. What was I thinking! She is "growing big like Daddy."
LITTLE MISS DRAMA QUEEN:
Amelia liked it enough that she wants to do The Nutcracker that they will be doing in December. No, it isn't a ballet. It is a musical version. The kids were grouped and all made up there own plays. I have to say there imaginations are intriguing. Amelia's play was about the Greek gods going on vacation and missing/getting on the wrong flight. Is that possible? Do gods make mistakes like that? Well, according to them, they do. So anyway, they ended up in NYC and on Broadway in a production playing , what else, Greek gods! The play and it's special effects were so realistic that the mayor and a critic became suspicious and investigated these new actors. Apparently, they found nothing but we don't really know because the actors(kids) got discombobulated and switched/missed/replayed scenes. Despite all that, I have to say Amelia was the best little actress up there. She played her part perfectly. By the way, she was the lead actress in the Broadway play that the Greek gods were in, miss Stella Vanderleidy. Heals, make-up and attitude. She had it all!
MR. POPULARITY:
Case,I believe, came into his own at camp. He always seemed to have the girls surrounding him and since has been on the phone with one or the other endlessly. Hello, teenagedom! He was in the oldest age group and also the lead in his play. You go Case! He said he liked being on stage and had no problems except when he had to be out there alone and he did have quite a bit out there alone. Once again , one of MY kids was the best one up there. Aren't they great?!?!?!
