Brian Dies not have vasculitis!!!!
They think his legs hurt from muscle atrophy after loosing weight, laying in the hospital then gaining the weight back quickly without working on the muscles.
They saw absolutely no reason forcthe high blood pressure and are still looking into that and the elevated liver enzymes.

Herecwdcare in jax for Brian to go to mayo clinic. Although that was our main reason to be downhere, I have to say it is Definately not the oybthingvwe have dine. As a matter if fact, only Brian has been there. We have done mamybither things. White Oak lane is now what every neighborhood street in America should and used to be. There are wonderful kids roaming the sidewalks and playing and neighbors visiting neighbors on front porches. We have met some wonderful people and the kids have had so much fun, I wish we lived here. Okay, maybe not. I do LOVE my house, but it would be great to ne surrounded by neighbors like these.
We have also visited family and old friends, which has been equally rewarding. I believe this was one of the best visit I have ever had with some of them!
Despite being absolutely exhausted, this had been a fabulous trip. The prognosis from Mayo was even good; not definitive, but good.

Hmmm, what to say...
The doctors at MUSC have dropped the case. They do not think it is PAN nor the artery issue, so they just dropped it. We were sent down there for them to find the problem. They didn't find it. Now, in typical Brian fashion, Brian is ready to just drop it himself. Unfortunately for him ( or possibly fortunately, however you want to look at it) he has a wife that will bug him about following up with Dr Gundi, who is currently out of the country in India, to resolve this issue. He will do it just to please his family because we would really like for him to stick around for a while longer.

What has become of Boy Scouts?

For those who know Case, Boy Scouts is a big part of his life. He has been in a troop in each new place we have been. Here in Easley he thought he had found a good troop. Then things started to happen. In the end, he left with some of the others to start a new troop. I am actually quite proud of what he is doing to help this new troop get started. Just yesterday, of his own volition, he called around to locals stores to see if any were willing to donate items the troop needed to get started and he was quite successful in it! We spent the afternoon driving to the different places to get the donated items. I think he will make an excellent leader for this new troop. However, this troop too, is not without its downfalls. While trying to get started, one adult member apparently has been watching too many soap operas and forgot they are really just dramatizations on television. I think he (yes, HE) was trying to live one. And then had the nerve to try and get Case, a child, caught up in it! I have had enough! This member has moved on but just can't seem to let it go. If it continues, it will soon go before the council. I really can't believe what some people will do. Scouts is supposed to be a positive influence on these boys. From what I can gather, I do not think this man or the former troop are emulating that. I am sorely disappointed and really hope they can get past all this and the new troop can be successful.

Is Case off to school?

This past Thursday we went to visit the boarding school Case is interested in attending. Yes, you saw that right. I wrote BOARDING school. How did this come about? It actually started out as a joke and as it progressed Case decided he might actually like to try it. He chose Rabun Gap Nacoochee School in Rabun Gap Georgia. It is a 100+year old school on 1000 acres in the Foothills of the Smoky Mountains. By coincidence (or fate),one of my coworkers partners is in admissions there. They were nice enough to let Case spend the night and attend school with her the following day while we followed behind and came for a parent interview at the close of the school day. Case shadowed a student with similar interests and we all joined up after the interview for a tour of the campus. I was very impressed with the familiarity and camaraderie the teachers shared with the students. Many of the teachers and their families live on campus. The atmosphere is one of family and community. I think we were all very pleased and impressed. Now... if only we could find that treasure map... we might could figure out how to pay for it...where did it go... i know it was around here somewhere...
