Ainslee's Birthday trip

Case's boy scout troop was going to go to Myrtle Beach to Medieval Times on the weekend of Ainslee's birthday so we asked her if she would like to go to the beach for her birthday. After some coaxing she decided she did. Then Case's troop ended up not being able to go and Ainslee still wanted to go to the beach, so we made our way to Dunes Village Resort (look at the amenities for the water park pictures) at Myrtle Beach. We chose that based on the availability of the indoor water park in case of foul weather. Good choice. The weather was just a bit(yes, that is sarcasm) windy. The Palm trees were bending over it was so windy. Not so much that you couldn't go take a walk on the beach, but you did want something with long sleeves.
So anyway, we did have a good time. The kids played in the water park from the moment they woke until it was time to go to bed. The first night Ainslee crashed when we came up for dinner at 6. She found many friends to play with each day and even went down ALL the water slides, even the ones for adults. She also did quite well with her swimming also. I feel sure that she will be swimming on her own by the end of summer. Amelia found several friends to hang with and seemed to enjoy her time, except that mom refused to go to the WINDY beach with her. She went anyway and found some shells she is quite proud of finding. She said she had to dig down into the sand a good bit ti find them. Case seemed to enjoy his time as well. He struck up some conversations with a group of adults in the hot tub, but was just as happy playing with his little sister fro her birthday.
Despite the fact that I despise Myrtle Beach, I actually enjoyed our time there. Of course, we weren't in all the commercialism that is so much a part of Myrtle Beach. I has forgotten how wonderful a yearly trip to the beach can be. We haven't really been in several years. I will have to be sure to plan one from now on - no exceptions. I have heard the cabins on Hunting Island are nice...

(as usual...pictures to come - Have you looked back? I have uploaded some for previous posts where promised)
