Observing Nature

We have had several wonderful interactions with nature recently. The first was watching the Red-throated hummingbirds converge at our feeder. For so long we thought there were none around and then we got to sit on our back porch and watch several of them battle over rights to eat from our feeder. At one point we saw as many as five!

The next day, on our morning walk, we found a Luna moth caterpillar:



This morning I found Ainslee looking intently at something at the bay window. I didn't get pictures of this. I have been having trouble with clarity on my camera. She had found a spider web and said she was watching the babies hatch. I'm not sure what it was and we didn't look it up this time, but she did find a small spider that was moving it's abdomen up and down on a line of silk that had other small round looking egg sacs also. It is so soothing to watch nature.
